Immigration Options

Much of Silicon Valley’s success can be contributed to its global nature. A long list of tech giants in the United States (companies such as like Apple, Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Paypal, eBay, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Uber, SpaceX, etc) were started by immigrants.  In fact, approximately 60% of the most highly valued public tech companies were founded by first or second generation immigrants and approximately 50% of the most highly valued private tech companies were founded by first generation immigrations.  If we expand our vantage point beyond just tech, 42% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by first or second generation immigrants and these companies account for approximately 30% of the US GDP or $4.5 trillion of annual revenue.  The best and brightest from around the world continue to Silicon Valley as the place to advance their careers and start groundbreaking companies.  STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) degrees from native born citizens, however, continue to fall on a relative basis and every year computer science job openings are 2.4X higher than the number of computer science graduates.
